As squirrels like to hide their nuts in locations unknown to most of their kind, and return to these secret hiding places when they’re hungry or in need of a satisfying meal, The Flying Squirrel is a humbly-sized, hole-in-the-wall hideout, tucked in the corner of an alleyway along Amoy Street… a secret place that people come to when in search of good grub, coffee, or a casual drink.  

Inspired by the love of travel, coffee, art, music and Japanese food… and a by-product of mostly alcohol-induced conversation, The Flying Squirrel has an intriguing story, stringing together fragments of New York, Melbourne, Tokyo and home-base, Singapore. Just ask Angel, the fair lady and mastermind of the concept, for the full story if you see her scurrying around the sushi bar counter.
